O.k. ladies, in case you ever want to impress a guy with some hockey knowledge, here goes:
Kings lost last night against the San Jose Sharks, who are also a rival team kind of like the Dodgers and the Giants. Well, we got our butts kicked but the second Kings' goal with twenty-seven seconds left in the third period was good enough for me!
Michael Camalleri was out for the game, and according to hockey enthusiasts, that's where we took our biggest hit, not on the ice against the boards.
Apparently the Kings are in last place in the Western Conference, but they do have four players contending for a spot on the all stars game. Their "Vote for Me" ads are really great!
Jessie and I went to our first of five Kings games last night and I have to say, L.A. has a very interesting mix of hockey fans. The lady next to me was texting on her Blackberry for a while until she put it safely away in her Louis Vuitton bag and was accurately calling out bad plays. I was surprisingly impressed. On the other side of us was a group of very interesting, yet menacing looking older guys whom I never would've placed as hockey fans. Jessie and I successfully avoided eye contact with them for our own protection.
All in all, it was another great night at a hockey game. I don't care what anyone says about L.A. sports fans, they love their teams and they definitely show it.
GO KINGS!
